Dear Friends and Family,
It has been a very long time since I have done anything like this (I think it was Jump-rope for Heart back in 3rd grade), but I have decided to challenge myself while helping others in need. I am participating in the Hill Country Ride for AIDS with my company team (Team SolarWinds). It will be a challenging bicycle ride through the beautiful Texas Hill Country and I have not been a cyclist for quite some time now, but with their training program, I'm sure I can do it!
Where do you come in? There are more people living with AIDS than ever before, and they need our help. I have committed to raise a goal of $500.00 to provide basic services, things you and I take for granted every day. I need you to meet my goal!
As you decide your amount, imagine not being sure if you were going to have enough food, or medical care, or imagine being sick and not having any family to help take care of you. The agencies supported by this Ride provide all of these services and more. Together, we can make a big difference for some wonderful people.
Believe me, I know times are tough, so I appreciate even the smallest amount you can give--that's another reason I opted for the 50-miler instead of 10 (I can do 10 in my sleep, but to reach my goal it would only be fair for me to do a little more). If anyone decides to up the ante and wants to push me to my own personal limits for a sizable donation, I am willing to change my planned ride to one of the longer routes--Olympic extension (another ~20 miles) or the Century (~100 miles total -- a bit daunting, I admit, but just means a bit more conditioning). As always, corporate donations are welcomed too. ;-)
Thank you for your support,
Mike LeBlanc
